Founded in 1983, Amphitheater Unified School District encompasses an area of approximately 108 square miles, situated in the northeast section of Pima County. The district is bounded on the east by Campbell Avenue and the Coronado National Forest, on the south by Grant Road, on the west by Fairview, Tuttle and Shannon Roads, and on the north by the Pima/Pinal County line.

To register a student for the first time, parents/guardians will need a certified copy of the student's birth certificate or other proof of age. An immunization record is also required.
A child must be five years old before September 1 to enroll in kindergarten. To enter first grade, a student must be six before September 1.
Each Amphitheater school has a specific attendance area. You may request approval for your child to attend another Amphitheater school. Intra-school district transfers are approved if space permits. However, transportation for students on intra-district transfers is not provided.
Amphitheater schools are committed to giving young people the background and experience that will enable them to achieve personal and professional satisfaction. Students receive a comprehensive education, which is based on a strong foundation of academic basics.
In addition to reading, writing and mathematics, elementary school subjects include social studies, science, citizenship, computers, safety, health and nutrition. Physical education is mandatory for students in kindergarten through 8th grade. Three semesters of PE are required in high school.
At the middle school and high school level, classes are offered in English, mathematics, science, social studies, physical education and fine or practical arts, which meet state and district graduation requirements. In addition, students have the opportunity to explore special interests or build job skills in vocational education classes, home economics, music/performing arts, art, photography, journalism, foreign language and technology/computers.
The fine arts and performing arts programs at Amphitheater Schools have earned public recognition for quality and innovation. The district provides skilled specialists and excellent facilities for education in the arts.
