Educational Information
Elementary and @or I-Iigh: Children should be enrolled at the school they will be amending. Please contact the secretary at the appropriate school to determine what papers are necessary to bring at the time of registration and to arrange for testing and placement of the student.

The District has a 20% gifted student population, low student/teacher ratios, comprehensive fine arts for students, fitness-based P.E. program for all students, computer labs in all schools, and easy access to the University of Arizona.

The District has consistently earned the highest scores on standardized tests in the state. The district is recognized for the superb preparation of its students for high school. CFSD achieves excellence by focusing on the individual needs of its students, providing them with appropriately paced instruction and materials. The objective is to provide every student with a solid foundation of academic skills. Daily instruction in math, reading and writing is the core of the curriculum.

In addition, the arts play an important and integral role in the education experience. Art, music and performing arts are part of the curriculum. Students are taught by specialists and also benefit from artist residencies and performances at each school.

In addition to quality basic programs, fifth and sixth grade children receive instruction in Spanish. A K8 fine arts program brings professional artists into the classroom. At the middle school, children take six subjects plus one elective. Electives can be selected from instrumental music, art, drama, Spanish, French, journalism, chemistry, environmental science, and photography.

Excellence in CFSD means developing the 'total" child. Physical education is part of the curriculum from kindergarten through eighth grade.
