Educational Information
A fast-growing district offering extensive educational programs designed to prepare students to enter a complex adult world. Educational programs include: comprehensive curriculum for special education, regular, and gifted students, which include vocational, college preparatory, and terminal education as well as opportunities for community education services.
The district's educational programs are considered to be fast paced and many are highly accelerated. Students achievement scores are well above county, state and national norms. Teams of teachers and administrators have completed careful curriculum mapping to chart the entry and exit skills for each grade level in all subject areas from kindergarten through high school. The district has adopted a Pupil Progression Plan to set guidelines and procedures for firm policy on promotion/retention, which include the use of objective measures to assure student competencies for grade level entry.
Active parent groups provide community input and support for their children's education.
Transportation
Ninety percent of the student population is transported in school buses to and from school. The district provides transportation to students, enabling participation in after-school activities.
